De Mobile Video HDD werd speciaal ontworpen als allround Stand Alone Media Player. Wanneer deze op een PC wordt aangesloten, fungeert hij als een extern USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (en eSATA bij het model met dubbele interface) Serial ATA-station met een grote opslagcapaciteit. 
Wanneer hij op een AV-toestel is aangesloten, kunt u met de Mobile Video HDD uw volledige mediabibliotheek rechtstreeks op uw televisie of home cinema-systeem beheren en afspelen.
